The sequestering of women in Islamic culture is but an offshoot of what God requested in the OT (the ultimate prevalence of marriage) but certainly in a more vigorous and demanding manner which especially in our cultural view does take on a light of definite subjugation, but the idea being to balance and structure a culture for those within it, so that it can eventually move forward, in time, slowly (progress). That our warmongering christians do not note the similarities in what the OT god asked of Jews and those nearby is remarkably similar to what the Arabs and other muslims practice is but a footnote at the bottom of the great length of institutionalized intersocietal hatreds.
