Was at the veterans day parade today in Atlanta GA, lots of guns and stuff, later on in afternoon, I was working on 16th floor of highrise
and two f 18 Hornets in tight fromation flew right by the window over Centenial olympic park below me.
It's kind of wierd seeing fighter jets buzzing around inbetween 50 to 70 floor buildings when your up in one,
last time i saw some low flybys was just after 911 happened on the days the Us airspace was shut down for about a week, there were f15s buzzing around downtown back then, ( a short lived aerial supremacy exercise called operation iron sheild if i'm not mistaken ), not quite as low as the hotshots I saw today though.
heard one X marine describe the rooooooaaaar of fighter jets as the sound of freedom, some time ago.

I always think freedom sounds like - at least in my mind - silence, or maybe celebration. -

Re: The sound of freedom
Sun, November 8, 2009 - 6:39 AMIt's not a sound you hear, it is a sound you make. The song of freedom isn't sung to you, it is one you sing for yourself, as freedom isn't a gift bestowed on you by somebody else, it is a concept you embrace of your own accord. -

Sun, November 8, 2009 - 8:14 AMI never said because you have to sing it that people won't try to gag you.
As the old saying goes, freedom isn't free.
